StaffQuest Placement Group is seeking a forklift operator to work with our client, a leading manufacturing company specializing in custom and precision parts. They are dedicated to providing high-quality products and exceptional service to their customers.

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and organize goods within our warehouse or production facility. Your role is crucial in maintaining efficient workflow, ensuring the accuracy of inventory, and supporting the overall productivity of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forklift Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport, stack, and organize products and materials. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by accurately recording the movement of goods and materials. Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to management.
  • Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload goods from trucks, containers, and storage areas. Ensure that items are handled with care to prevent damage.
  • Order Fulfillment: Prepare and stage orders for shipment by picking and packing products according to specifications. Verify order accuracy and ensure timely processing.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance issues.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of forklifts and other material handling equipment. Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the maintenance team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks. Communicate effectively to address any issues or concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of forklift operations, including log sheets and delivery tickets. Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Valid forklift operator certification and/or license, in compliance with Canadian regulations. Certification from a recognized training program is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is highly desirable. Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures related to forklift operation and material handling.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Capable of handling heavy loads safely.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks performed.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with other departments.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards of performance.
