Are you ready to join a new team as an experienced Carpenter? StaffQuest Placement Group is seeking a Carpenter to work with our client, a premier construction company specializing in residential and commercial projects throughout Ontario. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks related to the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety, in accordance with project specifications and building codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carpentry Work: Perform carpentry tasks including framing, installing cabinetry, constructing structural elements, and finishing work. Work on both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of projects. Ensure that all work is completed according to design plans and specifications.
  • Material Handling: Select and prepare materials for construction, including measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials. Ensure materials are handled and stored properly to prevent damage.
  • Installation: Install and fit doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures. Ensure all installations are secure, level, and properly aligned.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures and fixtures. Address any issues related to wear and tear, damage, or malfunction.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials. Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications. Make adjustments and corrections as needed to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers. Communicate clearly to coordinate tasks and address any project-related issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any carpentry-related issues that arise during the project. Provide solutions that are both practical and cost-effective.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a carpenter, with a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. Experience in [specific type of projects or environments, if applicable] is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment, including saws, drills, and measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of safety practices and regulations related to carpentry work. Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with a focus on precision and quality in all carpentry tasks.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines and project requirements.

  • Red Seal Certification: Valid Red Seal certification as a Journeyman Carpenter, demonstrating recognized competence and expertise in the trade would be an asset.
