Litigation Assistant

Job description

  • At least 2 years experience as a legal assistant.
  • Experience with ICBC files a plus.
  • Full time preferred, but part time is an option for the right candidate.
  • Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
  • They are looking for a candidate that can join their team and hit the ground running.  This will start off as a temporary placement with a potential to transition into a permanent role if the 'fit' is right.
  • Duties include:
  • • Answering telephones
    • Entering billing time and statistical information and billing preparation
    • Preparation of correspondence and court pleadings
    • Maintaining bring forward system
    • File management, including filing, opening and closing files
    • Making appointments, booking court hearings and maintaining lawyer schedules
    • Office supply ordering
    • Shredding
    • Arranging couriers
    • Courthouse run (filing of court applications)
    • Document retrieval from client office
  • PC Law experience
